Old Becomes New

Today I wanted to show you a beautiful vintage dress I came across at The Vintage Bride.
They have a variety of vintage gowns categorized by time periods and they offer FREE shipping!

This style is from the 1940's and called Santa Rosa {Lace and Satin Vintage Wedding Dress}.
I found it so pretty, feminine and elegant. Hope you enjoy browsing & Happy Planning!

Strike a Pose

When you are posing for pictures, cross your legs at your ankles for a more flattering look. Also, to avoid a double-chin effect, turn your neck slightly and lower your chin to create a bit of a camouflaging shadow. Thanks to Brides.com for today's tip! Happy Planning....

Pictures a Little Greener

One Reason to Choose Digital Photographers...

A digital photographer will make prints only of the images you select from a website (there’s no sorting through a box of hundreds of proofs), so you’ll cut down on the amount of paper wasted and extra chemicals used for processing. If you’re a traditionalist who favors film photography, ask if the shooter uses a less toxic and more eco-friendly developing process. See more questions to ask your wedding photographer. Thanks to Real Simple for the simple tips! Happy Planning ;-)

Real Wedding: Palm City, Florida

This adorably nautical wedding is from Lucky Orchid Wedding and took place at the beautiful Harbour Ridge Yacht Club in Palm City, Florida!

To coordinate with the theme, the couple used our popular compasses as escort cards and displayed them in a sweet little display.

The rest of the wedding details were equally as charming - we especially love the story of their love and courtship! Photography by Jessica Lorren Organic Photography. Visit her blog for more photos on this wedding! Visit Lucky Orchid Wedding website for more information on their compasses.

Happy Planning!

In Honor of Dads...

What to do when you have a special place in your heart for your biological father but adore your step dad?
Brides.com had this suggestion to offer....

Have a frank conversation with each man and find out who this honor means more to—you may even want to enlist the opinion of your mother as well as your siblings. If you give the privilege to your stepfather, let your father have the father-daughter dance or allow him to give the first toast at the reception. If it seems that both men are equally invested in escorting you, you could give each of them an arm and walk down the aisle as a trio. Or, you can stroll down the aisle by yourself and give each of the fathers a different role to play at the ceremony. One could be a greeter for arriving guests; the other can give a special reading.

Visit brides.com for more ideas concerning "split decisions".

Money-Saving Fridays

If you are looking to save some cash on your big day, book a Friday-evening wedding. It will also make it easier to secure more sought-after vendors. You may want to consider the start time since guests may be working, but they will enjoy the fact they still have the whole weekend ahead of them! Happy Planning!

Honeymoon 'Favor'

While making reservations for your honeymoon, and during the trip itself, make sure anyone and everyone knows you're newlyweds. You never know who'll throw in an extra complementary champagne and strawberries. Thanks to brides.com for the tip! (When I got married, my husband and I told the airline we were on our honeymoon and they bumped us to first class. That was 8 years ago, so I am not sure the airlines are that giving now...you can barely get peanuts or pretzles!) Happy Planning!

Quick Powder Tip

A dusting of baby powder on your finger before the ceremony will ensure that your ring slides on smoothly. I have also used powder on brides feet to slip into their shoes. It's great to have a little trial size handy! Happy Planning!
